Why I Became an Arborist

I grew up around trees. My parents planted an oak in our front yard before I was born. I watched that tree for 30 years — through storms, through neglect, through seasons I didn't understand.

When I started in tree service at 25, I did what most contractors do: removal, hauling, quick cash. After three years, I was good at it, but I felt hollow. The work was efficient but it wasn't helpful.

So I went back to school. Studied arborology. Sat for the ISA exam. Changed everything about how I worked.

Now, 17 years later, I'm still here. Same company. Same neighborhood. Same commitment to one principle: trees deserve expertise, not just labor.
